Mars in 3D contains a 32-minute 3D film produced by the late Elliott Levinthal of Stanford University. He wrote and produced a film that features actual footage beamed back from the Viking missions to Mars back in the late 1970s. He collaborated with NASA on the filmed portion of the project and asked his Stanford colleague John Chowning to assist with the sound track for the film, which features computer music composed by a couple of his star students Michael McNabb and William Schottstaedt.
